Our monthly meeting for February is on Tuesday, February 26 at 7pm at the Seattle Labor Temple, 2800 1st Ave., Hall #6.
We will be hosting a seminar alongside Teamsters 117, the winners of the recent strike over UNFI, entitled “What does a Winning Strike Look Like? – part 2”

On February 7, after weeks on the strike line in bitter cold weather, all Teamsters 117 members returned to work at United Natural Foods Inc., (UNFI) beating back a determined effort by UNFI to fire almost half the work force and bust the union.
Leaders of the strike will discuss their victory, and the challenges ahead under a new contract. What worked? What didn’t? What can unionists learn for future strikes?
OWLS will also report on the independent boycott launched against Whole Foods, and its role in bringing pocket book pressure on one of UNFI’s top customers.
